АННОТАЦИЯ

Successful completion of this course will help graduates to develop competencies required for a successful professional activity in English language.

Particular attention is paid to the existing expertise of students and their subsequent activation. The course material is selected so that linguistic knowledge and skills are balanced with non-linguistic knowledge and skills.

Attention is also paid to the ability to work with texts on mechanical engineering, to work with terminology and ability to compile technical dictionaries and glossaries. This course provides for an active character of the students' work; hence to develop the skills for autonomous study the course contains a number of tasks aimed to develop the relevant skills.

The following topics are covered in the course "Professional Training in English Language" module "Fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering" to develop skills of professional communication:

  • product life cycle;
  • manufacturability analysis;
  • engineering design;
  • foolproof design;
  • ethics in engineering;
  • manufacturing process design;
  • types of fixtures;
  • cutting parameters;
  • types of work-pieces;
  • heat treatment operations;
  • quality control.
