Computer Technologies in Science and Education

About the course

The course is devoted to the concepts of creation the interactive models using Interactive Physics package and Nano Hub resource. Students acquire programming skills in Python language - a powerful instrument for data analysis. The course also contains overview of the automation processes via LabVIEW instrument and provides the basics for creating remote educational resources. Thus, the course presupposes great amount of students` independent studies.

Learning outcomes:

The aim of this course is to equip students with the advanced set of skills for using computer technology to solve professional and research problems in the field of physical process simulation, automation of physical equipment, and data processing. Students will be able to use the obtained skills for solving tasks in engineering and scientific projects.

Upon the course completion, students will be able to:
(a)   Critically assess the applicability of the model and the obtained modeling data;
(b)   Use the knowledge of methods for physical phenomena modeling in Interactive Physics package and Nano Hub resource;
(c)   Analyze theoretical and experimental data using Python language and Origin package;
(d)   Create virtual instruments and algorithms in LabVIEW package;
(e)   Arrange information in remote educational resources.
